On March 27 he died at age 88 near Salvador (Bahia), the liberation theologian Jose Comblin. Belgian by birth, chose to work in Latin America, as he realized that European Christianity was twilight and saw in our sub-space for creativity and a new test of the Christian faith articulated in popular culture.
