What are Web Accessibility Guidelines

The "Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 Web Content" are a W3C specification providing guidance on accessibility of Web sites people with disabilities.
have been developed by the Initiative Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of W3C. The specification contains fourteen guidelines which are general principles for accessible design. Each pattern is associated with one or more checkpoints describing how to apply this pattern to presentations
Web pages.
An appendix to these guidelines, the "List of Checkpoints for Accessibility Guidelines
Content Web 1.0", presents the checkpoints sorted by priority for easy reference. These guidelines not only make pages more accessible to people with disabilities but with the added benefit of making them more accessible to all users using different browsers or new laptops or voice-based.
